A Midspring Guide to the 3M Open
Where to Stay, Dine & Explore During Tournament Week
With the 3M Open returning to TPC Twin Cities in Blaine next week, we wanted to share a few of Shannon's favorite places for anyone making the trip. Whether you're in town for one day or an extended weekend, these are the spots worth adding to your itinerary. The 3M Open takes place July 20–26 at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, just north of Minneapolis.
Before launching Midspring, our founder, Shannon Arniel, called the Minneapolis suburbs home for five years. During that time, the Twin Cities became more than just a place to live—it became the backdrop for countless rounds of golf, neighborhood dinners, weekend adventures, and ultimately the place where the vision for Midspring first took shape. In many ways, Minneapolis served as the original headquarters of the brand.
Where to Stay
If you're looking to experience Minneapolis beyond the golf course, stay in the North Loop. Our favorite is Hewing Hotel, a boutique hotel that perfectly balances historic character with modern luxury. Thoughtfully designed rooms, an exceptional rooftop, and one of the city's best locations make it the perfect home base for tournament week. You'll be within walking distance of some of Minneapolis' best restaurants, shops, and coffee stops while still only about a 30-minute drive from TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, depending on traffic.
Where to Eat
Minneapolis has quietly become one of the Midwest's best food cities, and these three restaurants are always at the top of our list.
- Start with Bar La Grassa for handmade pasta and an unforgettable Italian dinner. It's the kind of place you'll want to return to every visit.
- For a special evening, reserve a table at Spoon and Stable. Located in the North Loop, this award-winning restaurant showcases seasonal Midwestern ingredients in a warm, welcoming setting that's become one of the city's signature dining experiences.
- If you're willing to venture just outside downtown, make the drive to Linden Hills for Martina. The neighborhood alone is worth exploring, and the restaurant's Argentine-inspired menu, beautiful patio, and relaxed atmosphere make it one of our favorite dinners in the Twin Cities.
Shopping Between Rounds
No visit to Minneapolis is complete without a stop at MartinPatrick 3.
Part luxury boutique, part lifestyle destination, it's a thoughtfully curated space featuring apparel, home goods, accessories and gifts. Whether you're looking for something to wear to dinner after the tournament or simply appreciate great design, this was Shannon’s favorite place to shop and explore new brands.
The Drive to Blaine
One of the best parts of the 3M Open is that you can enjoy everything Minneapolis has to offer while still having easy access to the tournament.
From downtown, the drive to TPC Twin Cities in Blaine is typically around 30 minutes, making it easy to spend your mornings or evenings exploring the city before heading out to watch the world's best players compete. During tournament week, allow extra time for traffic and use the tournament's designated parking and shuttle system if you're driving.

The 3M Open has become one of the highlights of the PGA TOUR summer schedule, bringing together world-class golf with the welcoming spirit that makes Minnesota so special. Last year, Midspring was proud to outfit the women of 3M’s Leadership that Matters group. These ladies wore their Midspring looks when they presented Kurt Kitayama with his trophy.
